Vegas was a blast, sadly the slot machines didn’t play nice with me so back to work I go.

So first day back and I had a job shadow student here with me at the studio for the day.  I didn’t want her to be totally bored, my average day is more paper and computer work than actually creative shooting, so I scheduled several sessions to keep us entertained.

This little guy was first up.  He just turned one, and I have been lucky enough to take pictures of him for his first year.  He was a little shy…at first…and then we brought out the cake.  THAT he enjoyed.

And the best part of it???  Clean up is a snap…for ME anyway.  All I do is cut off the paper and throw it away.  His mom had a bit more, cake between the toes isn’t the easiest to clean up from what I understand, but the pictures we ended up with are priceless and so worth the mess.

And check back tomorrow…I”ve got two more sessions to share from the job shadow day.

and I’ve loved watching this little baby planner grow the last 9 months.  Which I still can’t BELIEVE that the next time I see him will be at his cake smash.  It just doesn’t seem like its been this long.  This whole session just FLEW by, I swear he smiled the entire time he was there.

and this one chose the COOLEST of locations.  We were able to go to the Zoo to shoot, and there were so many neat places that we ended up running out of TIME.  Plus since it was cool (but not cold) out the animals were active so we were entertained at the same time.  And she was such a blast to hang out with for a few hours, I think we laughed thru the entire session.

I’m realizing today as I’m doing some tax paperwork (the not so fun part of my job) just HOW busy the last quarter was and then I stop by the blog, trying to decide whose gallery I’m showing today…and can’t decide because I’m that far behind.  SO today I’m going to make SEVERAL blog posts…have it set up to automatically update all week long and show you all some of these amazing people I’ve had the opportunity to work with recently.  I’m one of the very lucky people that can truely say I love my job, I love coming to work each and every day and smile as I”m unlocking my front door, and I hope that shows.

And this set of munchkins….these I had to work for.  The first time we tried for these, it didn’t go so well.  And I totally wanted another chance at them, I KNEW we could get good smiles out of both of them, and I”m so glad we did the reshoot.  After just playing with them for a bit, we ended up with some beautiful shots.

(and psst….before I stop rambling and show you the pics….dont’ you all just LOVE the new signs at the studio????  I feel so official now!!!! lol)

and even though its a very stressful day, they are always so much fun to shoot.  We ended up not being able to go outside for this one, the weather did not cooperate for us but we still ended up with some great shots.

and the best part of the baby plan, is getting to see how much they change  inbetween sessions.  This little one was a ham (and she is SO MUCH like her dad, some of us that knows him would say thats scary…sorry Kurt), but I just loved the sassy looks she kept giving me.

Ok so I’ve been a really bad updater.  In my defense…there has been TONS going on.  We still have a few renovations going on the new studio, and then I’m sure most of you have noticed by now, but we are in the middle of rebranding as well.  I figure, new studio, new location….we need a new look.  And I’m so in love with how its all turning out.  My signs are in (I just need to get them hung), my PENS are in (yes you can come steal some, I don’t mind) and then the new brocures are in the process right now as well as lots of other goodies.  I’m also updating all the sample pieces in the studio, which has turned into a HUGE project.  And last but definatly not least…the new website.  ITS SO PRETTY!!!!!!  I’ve got to finish loading up the galleries in it, I know its kind of weak right now, but the push at the moment is to get the client information site up and running, which will make everything go so smooth….once its done.  Time is NOT my friend right now.

So…now that I”m done rambling/whining (take your pick, I’m not sure which I’m doing either these days) I’ve got to start with some updates.  I had really good intentions of taking a few weeks off to finish the move and get everything finished, and then I ended up with one of my busiest months EVER.

This little munchkin was just too cute.  Her eyes just STAND out and she is always so happy when they pop into the studio.  Its crazy that she is 9 months old already, it seems like she was JUST born.

I totally didn’t mean to do that, its definatly the Christmas Season.  I’ve realized in the last few weeks just HOW much has changed since August….we went straight into fall with renovating the new building, then the move and then the Christmas rush was here.  So for those of you that have been waiting (like my seniors), thank you SO MUCH for your patience.  Now that I”m somewhat settled, and Santa day is behind me I’m finally getting everything else caught up.  I have SO MANY updates, I don’t even know where to start so I’m probably going to be going out of order for awhile.

So today I’m starting with a senior.  LOVED our location, they were doubtful at first we would find much to shoot at on thier farm, but I loved it so much.  So many of the cool old barns are falling down and being replaced with new sheds, so finding this one definatly made me happy.

but I’m still working on the many pictures that I had taken during the fall wedding season.  I loved every minute of shooting these weddings ,and being a part of their day, but then when you tie it in to renovating a building and moving, well its made for a crazy few months.

This wedding we were very lucky on, it rained for most of the day, and right when it was time to head to the reception site it cleared up for us so we could get a few outdoor shots.  We ended up stopping at some awesome locations and had lots of laughs trying to fit a few more shots in.
